Trauma Counseling

Trauma can affect how you think, feel, relate to others, and experience your body and the world around you. Whether your trauma is rooted in a single event or ongoing experiences, healing is possible.

Our trauma counseling provides a safe, compassionate space to gently process what you’ve been through at your own pace. We work collaboratively to help you build emotional regulation, restore a sense of safety, and reconnect with yourself and your relationships.

Using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, we support you in reducing the impact of trauma symptoms such as anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, shame, and difficulty trusting. You don’t have to relive the past to heal from it—you deserve care that honors your resilience and your story.

If you’re ready to move toward greater stability, clarity, and self-compassion, we’re here to walk alongside you.
You are not broken. Healing is possible. We can help.

Trauma-informed Therapy

Our treatment prioritizes safety, choice, and empowerment while recognizing how trauma impacts the nervous system, relationships, and daily functioning. We integrate a variety of proven trauma-informed therapy to address the unique challenges you face, including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a powerful and effective therapy that helps people process and heal from traumatic memories. Through guided eye movements and other bilateral stimulation techniques, EMDR helps the brain reprocess painful experiences, reducing the emotional intensity and distress connected to past events. It’s especially effective for individuals suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is an evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs related to trauma. By reframing these thought patterns, CPT helps reduce the impact of trauma on daily life, leading to a greater sense of control, clarity, and relief from distressing emotions.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a widely used approach for treating anxiety and depression. By examining the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, CBT helps individuals challenge negative thinking patterns and develop healthier coping mechanisms. This therapy empowers clients to break free from the cycle of anxiety and depression, fostering long-term emotional resilience.

  • Cutting-Edge Therapies for Treatment-Resistant Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) represents a transformative and evidence-based approach to mental health care. Emerging research, including ongoing FDA-sponsored clinical trials and peer-reviewed studies, indicates that when combined with traditional psychotherapy, PAT can significantly reduce symptoms of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Within a safe, supportive, and carefully structured clinical setting, clients engage in guided therapeutic experiences designed to promote deep emotional insight, facilitate trauma processing, and support meaningful psychological healing. This integrative approach helps individuals access and work through experiences that may be difficult to reach through conventional therapy alone.

When clinically appropriate, referrals for evidence-based psychedelic treatments are made to carefully vetted and extensively trained medical professionals. At NEIMFT, we provide comprehensive preparation and post-treatment integration sessions to help clients thoughtfully process their experiences and translate insights into sustainable, lasting change in daily life.
